The Sabbath... essential for great Leadership! 🕯️

Jerry Morla

We live in a world that runs 24/7, every day of the year, but I think by now most have realized the significant toll this is taking on society. Many argue that #burnout is bad for business, but truth is that it is even costlier for individuals at both professional and personal levels. Whether for business or #health, the key to a sustainable pace and resiliency might be found in the spiritual principle of the Sabbath, which according to the Bible, even God took after 6 days of creation!

#Resiliency is the ability to bounce back from adversity and handle stress in a healthy way, which is an essential #leadership skill and one that we have to practice to get better at. It is an important quality to cultivate in order to maintain good mental and physical health. Rest and relaxation are key components of building resiliency. Taking time to decompress and recharge during the weekend can help you return to your daily responsibilities feeling rejuvenated and better equipped to handle any challenges that may come your way.

There are many different ways to decompress and find rest during the weekend. Some ideas might include reading and meditating in the Scriptures, spending time with family, friends, and loved ones, taking a leisurely walk or hike in nature, engaging in a hobby or creative pursuit, or simply taking a few moments to sit quietly, work on your spirit, and think about all the things that you are grateful for.

Remember, it is okay to take a break from the demands of everyday life and prioritize your spiritual life and own well-being. By resting, taking care of yourself, loved ones, and building resiliency, you will be better able to handle the challenges and stresses that come your way.

Take some time to relax and recharge this weekend, and come back to your weekly routine feeling refreshed and ready to tackle whatever comes your way. If for whatever reason it isn't possible for you to rest during weekends, do your best to make it up later in the week!

I know this is one of the main skills I need to work on, so I'm ready!

Enjoy the Sabbath! 🕯️

Shabbat Shalom! 🖖
